Tonight, the boys celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl by talking about washing jeans, ice cream, and we make out 2014 Super Bowl picks. I’m rooting for the ball.

If you guys aren’t aware, we have switched to a bi-weekly recording of our show, Bi-weekly means every other week right? Anyway, with that, we are drinking two beers a week.

I had an awesomely malty Amber by Dead Armadillo and Matt had Marshall’s Black Dolphin Stout. Both were enjoyed quite a bit.

Back again with another fun filled episode of The Beer Drinkers! Wait, that’s not our name. Anyway, tonight we talked about beer maps, firefighters, and wax.

We had several beers tonight. Matt had Prairie Artisan Ales Vanilla Noir. He loved it. It was great. Chris had Prairie Birra and Black Mesa’s Double ESB. Both are quite delicious.

Thanks again to the Hayward Strangers for the theme music of the Brew View podcast. Go buy their album Making Ground. It is available on iTunesGoogle Play, and Amazon. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUY IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT.

Holy hell, it’s been a long time! Seriously, We have fallen way behind and we didn’t mean to. As some of you know, last week we had some technical difficulties and lost the episode. I hope you guys enjoy this one even though like everyone else, beer news has taken a vacation. But, on the bright side, at least we got to talk one last time before the new year.

We had a couple of beers by Rough Tail Brewing Company tonight. Matt drank the Polar Night, a 7.7% abv hopped up stout. And I had 12th Round Strong Ale, a hoppy, malty mix-up. Those guys are making some pretty great beers.

We hope you all had a great Christmas and a safe New Year.

So, we messed up. More importantly, my computer messed up. We recorded Episode 59 and while I was saving my part, my computer crashed. Blue screen of death! Sucks. Good news is that it saved most of my part. Bad news is that it saved it in 700, 10 second clips. So, if I ever get around to putting those together, you will hear episode 59. Until then, grab yourself a bottle of Prairie’s Beer That Saved Christmas. It was a little on the sweet side for me, but Matt loved it.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Have you ever had one of those weeks when you just couldn’t get anything to work right? We’re gonna have to skip a week of Brew View due to uncontrollable circumstances. Actually, Chris lost his voice and Matt is just unreliable….. Sorry folks, we’ll have a special Brew View Christmas edition real soon. Until then….Finish your beer!

Hey guys, due to the holiday season, Matt and I have decided to start podcasting every other week to give us a little more time to prep our shows. We hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving and we will talk at you next week!

In the mean time, enjoy this post by Marisa on her site,

Gingerbread ’til I’m dead

If you ask me, pumpkin spice can eat a dick.

It’s not that it’s bad, per se, but it’s not the best. What has pumpkin spice ever done that was so great? After all, no one grew up chanting “Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the pumpkin spice man!”

Ginger snaps are my favorite cookie. Gingerbread is my favorite sweet bread. The gingerbread latte at Starbucks is my favorite seasonal beverage. And now, I’ve found a beer that warms my innards and fills me with holiday cheer, or at least numbs my seasonal depression enough for me to semi-enjoy the holidays.

Ladies and gentleman, I give you the Sam Adams Merry Maker Gingerbread Stout. I’ve had 3 in the past 4 days.

Right off the bat, you can smell all the glorious holiday spices. It’s like your mom is baking you holiday treats somewhere beneath the foam. The beer is smooth and sweet, like you’d expect from a stout. And alcohol-wise, it’s got just a little bit of heat to it, and kind of reminds me of an imperial stout, without the after burn I associate with higher alcohol beers.

I’d say if you like stouts, kinda desserty beers, holiday beers, or beers with gingerbread men and sleds on the label, this will probably be your new winter obsession. If you try this beer and you still favor pumpkin beers over gingerbread stouts, we most certainly cannot be friends. It’s not negotiable. Because I don’t like to associate with people who are wrong.

I would like to use this beer to make a beer float too. Just put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the bottom of an imperial pint glass and top with some Merry Maker. Also, if you’re leaving some cookies out for Santa, I think he may appreciate having this beer instead, seeing as how he’s got a lot of work to do in one night and probably would like to blow off some steam.

Related note:

I realized that I’m dating Chris because he’s a ginger beard man. Clearly I transposed some letters when I was falling in love.

Chris and Marisa went on a quest, a quest for love, laughter and deep thought. Unfortunately, the only thing they found were a couple of discontinued beers, beer made by a metal band and a double cowboy doing good deeds.

Beer by the famous Prairie Artisan Ales. This Pirate Bomb did the impossible by improving on the already perfect Prairie Bomb. I couldn’t remember at the time of recording but Prairie will have their Grand Opening December 21st. Stoked.

Due to an unexpected steak dinner, we were not able to hook up to do the normal show. Fortunately, Jay and Marisa were able to step in and help drink a giant bottle of beer with Chris. We talked about Lumpy Space Princess, beer church, and crack.

We drank Split Decision by RoughTail Brewing. It was delicious.

Matt and Brian, get your shit together and come drink with me.
